Death, Loss and Grieving

You've gone.
I'm all alone; there are people all around me but I feel alone.
Everything's empty.
I miss you.
There're empty silences.
There're empty stares.
There's empty noise.
There're empty spaces.
There's empty time.
Quiet pain. Quiet loss.
Your presence is gone, but not your appreciation of life; that will stay with me forever.
Your warm, friendly face is painted in the sky.
Your soft touch remains on my sofa.
Your memory lasts forever.

Hope is a song.
Hope is a burst of fresh air that lifts our high spirits high above the clouds.
The beginning of laughter.
A tight bear hug.
It's watching flowers blossom.
It's watching a child play.
A smile.
Hope is help.
Something we need to hold on to.
Something to look to the future with.
Something that brings comfort.
Birds greeting the new day with … song.

"My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness."
"...those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength." Isaiah 40:31

"The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Deuteronomy 33:27
